Fifa World Cup Champions!

I just bought myself 1200 MS points and was very impressed with Evolution Games’ service. I added to item to my cart, made an account, paid with my credit card and got the key emailed to me in less than five minutes! Check them out, they also sell Xbox Live codes. Click here.

If you don’t have Xbox live, live in South Africa and want to get it, click here.

Yes! YouTube has officially launched YouTube.co.za! It’s basically YouTube South Africa if you havn;t noticed yet… YouTube.co.za will show videos related to South Africans on the home page and basically show relevant content to South Africa. YouTube is also teaming up with local South African producers like SABC and ETV to bring us the best locally produced content. Hopefully this will also let South Africans apply for the YouTube partnership program which lets you earn money from your video and has many other useful features.

Here’s a paragraph taken from the Official Google Africa Blog:

So, in the spirit of the day, we’re excited to launch http://www.youtube.co.za, a South African version of YouTube and our first domain on the continent. The goal here is to give South Africans a way to easily discover local content and content producers. From now on when users in South Africa visit the site, they will see, for example, the most popular and most viewed videos in South Africa along with local content that closely matches their interests.

I am quite exited about this and very interested to see what’s going to happen in the future, what about you?

The Pirate Bay Down!?

I tried to surf The Pirate Bay this morning to check what new movies there are. Every time I opened the site it gave me an error “The connection has timed out”. I’m not sure what the problem is but hopefully it comes to life again.

Update:

The Pirate Bay is suffering some temporary downtime as their bandwidth provider has stopped passing through traffic. A week ago, Hollywood got an injunction to effectively shut down the Pirate Bay by threatening its provider with huge fines. The Pirate Bay team is currently working on a solution.
